The flight left from Tehran's airport shortly before being struck down. On the flight were 176 passengers including 57 Canadians who were flying to get a connection.
The Iranian authorities hid their involvement in the incident for three days before coming forward with the truth. This admission sparked widespread protests across Iran. The Totalitarian state dissolved the protests with tear gas and live ammunition.
The Iranian Supreme Leader called the crash a "Bitter Accident" before going on to claim that Iran's enemies abroad had seized the crash to attempt to destabilize the regime.
He went on to say that Iran may consider entering a negotiation, but not with America.

He went on to say '"Their economy is crashing, and their people are suffering. He should be very careful with his words!"

He stated that the "cowardly" killing of Qassem had deprived them of a brilliant commander in the battle against ISIS.
